Freaking Out? Zoom Out.

You’re at that “I’ve even too much” tipping point.
You feel like you’ve gone too far, and you want to press the “Fuck It” button and just let rip!

Zoom out.

This discomfort is temporary.
Your body will digest, and the discomfort will pass.

Zoom Out.

Have you really eaten too much?
Too much for what?
Today? This week? A month? A year?
Increase the time horizon and you’ll see that this inner freak-out is unwarranted in the grand scheme of things right?

Zoom Out.

It feels awful in this moment, but it’ll feel worse to wake up tomorrow having blown it again.

Zoom Out.

If you have legitimately eaten more than you need for today, then chances are you won’t be that hungry later. (Which kinda sucks, coz maybe you were really looking forward to that dinner that you’ve been slaving over, and now you won’t have an appetite for it. But hey. it is what it is.)

It sucks, but its not a train smash.
By tomorrow your hunger will be back and you’ll have an opportunity to practise keeping room for dinner next time.

Zoom Out.

Disordered eating recovery takes time.
You’ll get better at stopping when you’re full and not nibbling while you’re prepping a meal.

Zoom Out.

Walk away now and you’ll be one step closer to the binge and/or purge urges not harassing you anymore.

Zoom Out.

Deeps breaths.
It’s going to be okay.
It’s just fullness.
This will pass.
